My experience of sponsoring someone on a bridging visa

It is a dreadful thing to suggest a willingness to sponsorship a staff member only to be told by immigration that the person does not meet the eligibility requirements.
Sponsorship expedites this process of obtaining permanent residency. Friends I know who lodged their bridging visa application received a reply two weeks later approving them. Even so, their friends who lodged at the same time are still waiting three years afterward. It is a frustrating process that is unpredictable; add to this the changing nature of immigration rules, student literally live day to day in the hope that they will receive their email granting permanent residency. It can be a long process. International students basically live on the edge, their only to commence their new live in their chosen country as citizens. Without permanent residency they cannot, their status temporary residency, bridging visa or student visa hangs over their head; it is like standing at a shop window and looking in but unable to unable to buy anything despite have a pocket full of money.
